Kathmandu. The old agreement has been renewed in Lalitpur, giving continuity to the cooperation between the health service and transport sector. Bhaisepati-based Nepal Mediciti and Federation of Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs (FNTE) have signed a new agreement to resume the existing collaboration on medical services.
As per the new agreement, Medicity will provide high-level treatment service to the patients referred by the associations and committees under the federation with priority. In case of emergency, the hospital should be informed before arrival and an authorized letter should be sent within 48 hours. Depending on the patient’s condition, the hospital will provide the estimated cost of treatment and it will be revised as per the need.
Priority will be given to the general ward as per the advice of the doctor and a written request has been made mandatory if cabin service is required. Likewise, the representatives of the Federation will meet the concerned doctors to get information about the treatment.
As per the provision of payment system, treatment expenses up to Rs 10 lakh per patient can be discharged on credit and if the expenditure exceeds this, the amount should be deposited in advance during the treatment. The remaining amount should be paid within 30 days after discharge.
The agreement also provides continuity to the discount facility. Similarly, the FNCCI members, employees and their family members will be given up to 10 per cent discount in hospital services and in case of injured patients, they will be given 10 to 20 per cent discount as per the medical expenses. However, exemptions will not be applicable on medicines, implants and external services.
Similarly, the provision of providing up to 50 percent discount on infection control charge in the coming years has been continued if the transaction of more than Rs 20 million is fully paid within a year. Both sides have agreed to jointly take forward social responsibility programmes such as reduction in road accidents, raising health awareness, blood donation programme and running medical camps.
The agreement will be valid for three years. If any party wants to cancel it, it has to give written notice 30 days in advance. The agreement was signed by Chief Executive Officer of Medicity, Dr. Amit Tomar and FNCCI president Rajendra Bikram Baniya have signed the MoU.
