. Bhaktapur: Two public buses collided at Sallaghari Chowk of Bhaktapur municipality-1 in Bhaktapur district today. Two people died on the spot and 19 others were injured in the accident.
A team of Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) provided first aid to the injured on the road.TAG_OPEN_div_19 A joint team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel from RNA-16, Nepal Army, rescued the injured. The injured were taken to Bhaktapur District Hospital in four ambulances. Doctors and nurses rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital.
This scene is from an artificial exercise of accidental accidents held here today. The Bhaktapur hospital conducted a mock drill in cooperation with the District Administration Office, Ranasser battalion Suryabinayak, District Police Range Bhaktapur and Armed Police Force Nepal No 22 Battalion Duwakot.
Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal said the road emergency drill was conducted for rescue operation in the incident site, first aid, treatment of the injured at the hospital and crowd control.TAG_OPEN_div_15 He said that this will contribute to providing easy service in case of disasters that may come in the coming days.
On the occasion, hospital director Dr Surendra Bhatta said the practice was conducted to give the message that the hospital was ready for treatment in case of any disaster and this would encourage the people to work more smoothly in case of road emergency.TAG_OPEN_div_13 Dr Kripa Maharjan of Patan Academy of Health Sciences said the exercise conducted today from the street to the hospital was very fruitful and proved that it was capable to face the possible disaster challenges in the coming days.
Police Inspector Chandra Bahadur Thapa of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Authority (NDRRMA) said today’s exercise has imparted practical skills to security personnel, rescue workers and hospital employees on how to rescue and treat people during the disaster.TAG_OPEN_div_11
