Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sita Badi has been appointed as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens. She became a minister from the Badi community.
The newly-appointed woman, who has been working for women empowerment through social organizations, said that the situation of women from the Badi community is even worse. According to her, the organization has been providing tailoring training to women to make them financially independent.
A permanent resident of Birendranagar Municipality-14 in Surkhet of Karnali Province and currently living in Budhanilkantha-8 of Kathmandu, Badi started her political career with the RSP. “The condition of women is critical, especially for Dalits and Badi communities,” she said. ’
According to Sita, the journey of politics is not easy. However, she said she would take this opportunity to invest in positive action. He was of the view that an egalitarian society should be built by removing the web of inequality, discrimination and humiliation existing in the society. She plans to strengthen the situation of women who cover half the sky and emphasize the development of women from marginalized communities.

Earlier, Umadevi Badi was elected to the Sudurpaschim State Assembly from the Badi community. “The plaintiffs are not even able to get food and accommodation. Stating that her childhood was filled with financial deprivation and social stigma, she recalled the pain of not getting a pen and notebook to study. She said that she had to face the challenge of food and living due to poverty.
However, the plaintiff said that many of the struggles she faced in her life have made her life stronger and more mature. Even in the midst of scarcity, he never had to give up his desire to study and an organization helped him in his education. The plaintiff, who has completed her BSW course, said that education is the main basis of awareness. After getting to study, she was able to move forward in life in a different way. “The fight for self-respect in society is very big,” she said. ’
