Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has urged the government to put an end to the situation of people facing problems in the name of ‘VIP Movement’.

While giving instructions to the employees after assuming charge at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, he stressed that the change should be initiated from the self.

Minister Gurung, who led the Zenji movement, had said that the tendency of disturbing the citizens during their vehicles should be scrapped immediately after the agitation. Minister Gurung himself left the ministry in a private car when he announced to hand over the facilities of the lawmakers to the people.

“The VIP movement at the civic level has been creating difficulties and I urge all the ministers not to do such things,” Minister Gurung said.

Service delivery via one-door system

After assuming office at the Ministry, Home Minister Gurung decided to provide services from the Ministry and its subordinate bodies through one-door system, keeping the families of martyrs and the injured as witnesses.

Minister Gurung said that a taskforce comprising representatives of various ministries would be formed to provide facilities to the families of martyrs and those injured during the Genji movement.
