Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak have been arrested at the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Both of them were arrested from Bhaktapur this morning. Police arrested Oli from Gundu and writer from Katunje. They are currently in custody, police said.
The commission formed under the chairmanship of Gauri Bahadur Karki to investigate into the Janji demonstration on September 23 and 24 had recommended former prime ministers KP Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak and other office-bearers of the Central Security Committee to be investigated in a criminal case.
The first cabinet meeting of the Balen Shah-led government on Friday decided to implement the commission’s recommendation to file criminal cases against Oli and the writer.
