Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government is to make the office chiefs responsible and accountable for controlling financial irregularities and corruption.

For this, it has urged all to provide suggestions for reforms in policy, legal, institutional, procedural and behavioral aspects that need immediate adoption from the government.

Chief Secretary Aryal said it was the responsibility of the office chief to behave civilly with the service seekers, to maintain neutrality, transparency and strictly follow the code of conduct as mentioned in the law.

Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, in a press release today, clarified that the government has accorded top priority to promoting good governance by ending policy, institutional, and procedural corruption taking place in the public bodies.

He said the government has adopted a policy of earning people’s trust by making government offices and employees efficient, professional and moral, and giving priority to women, children, people with disabilities, senior citizens and helpless in public service delivery.

The press release has urged the government to keep a close watch on the possible cases of bargaining, corruption and irregularities taking place in the government bodies, conduct surprise checks and write to the bodies concerned as soon as any information related to corruption is received.

The press release states that the chiefs of the bodies and offices would be made primarily responsible if any kind ÷of irregularities or corruption-related activities are found in the government bodies.

In the press release, Chief Secretary Aryal stressed the need to ensure good governance in the country by improving the efficiency and efficiency, austerity, transparency, effectiveness and conduct in the service delivery, development management and regular work operation of the government bodies.

It has been clarified that all should take necessary initiatives to maintain good governance and good conduct so that the citizens can feel the corruption taking place through the misuse of public position and authority in service delivery, development works, revenue administration, contract and procurement process.
