Court remands Oli, writer in custody for 5 more days

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak in custody for five more days for further investigation.

The court has extended the custody of Oli and writer by 5 more days. Earlier, the court had ordered him to be remanded in custody for two days on April 19.

Police had arrested Oli and the writer from his residence on Saturday on the recommendation of the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission, which was formed to investigate into the aftermath of the Janji agitation on September 7 and 24.

Meanwhile, the hearing on the habeas corpus petition filed by Oli and the writer is underway at the Supreme Court. The hearing on Sunday has been put on hold until the end of the hearing.
