Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoM), which has been regularly monitoring and inspecting the market, has brought four big marts under the purview of action.
The department has directed 4 marts to be present within 3 days with documents related to the business after finding fault in the field monitoring. The department has directed Metro Market Pvt Ltd Imadol, Selways Cash and Carry Pvt Ltd Maharajgunj, Mega Mart Pvt Ltd Bishalnagar and Bhatbhateni Supermarket and Departmental Store Pvt Ltd Ring Road to furnish documents within three days.
Similarly, the department has issued a similar directive to Muna Agriculture Limited. Another 10 firms have been given corrective instructions. The Department has been carrying out monitoring in the presence of local stakeholders and consumer rights activists with the objective of controlling black marketing and banning the sale and distribution of inedible goods.
