Kathmandu. Minister for Foreign Affairs Sishir Khanal will leave for Mauritius today to attend the ninth Indian Ocean Summit to be held in Mauritius from tomorrow at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Subrahmany, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The conference titled ‘Collective Stewardship for Indian Ocean Governance’ is being organised by the India Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Mauritius on April 27 and 28.
Minister Khanal is scheduled to present Nepal’s national views in the conference. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he will present Nepal’s perspectives on governance in the Indian Ocean region, mountain-ocean ecology and importance of maritime connectivity for economic development.
On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Khanal is scheduled to hold meetings with his counterparts from different countries. He is scheduled to return home on April 30.
