Construction of Pokhara-Muglin road obstructed due to removal of electric poles at Pokhara International Airport

. Construction of the Pokhara-Muglin road project has been affected due to the removal of poles of the 11 KV dedicated electricity line at Pokhara International Airport. The construction of the service lane and footpath of the road has not been possible due to the removal of 29 poles from the electricity substation at Kundahar to the entrance of the airport.
Krishna Bahadur Kunwar, chief engineer of the road project, said that they have written to the airport office and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) time and again to remove the poles.TAG_OPEN_div_35 The airport has been using the electricity imported from Kundaharchowk through dedicated line by constructing its own structure.
Engineer Kunwar said that the NEA has informed that the electric poles cannot be removed until the airport office pays for the construction of the structure to install the electric wires underground.TAG_OPEN_div_33 Chief Engineer of Nepal Electricity Authority’s Pokhara-Bharatpur Distribution System Improvement Project, Ananda Subedi, said that although the structure has been prepared to install underground wires in the airport, the service cannot be resumed until the airport makes payment.

The old structure of electricity is in operation at the airport as the underground line has not been started.
