Kathmandu. Budhanilkantha Municipality has started the task of developing the health profile of the residents of the municipality. Deputy Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality Anita Lama inaugurated the second anniversary of Budhanilkantha Municipal Hospital. She said she started making profiles from 4 and 7.
“A team including specialist doctors has started working with the goal of making a health profile of all the residents of the municipality,” Lama said, adding, “This will help identify and treat health problems in our municipality.” ”
On the occasion, Mayor of the municipality, Mitharam Sharma, said that the OPD started treating 3 patients two years ago. At present, the city hospital is treating up to 300 patients on a daily basis, Sharma said.
“It was not easy to run the hospital. The federal and provincial governments have been continuously providing financial and technical support to us. From the very beginning, the staff and health workers have been making continuous efforts,” Sharma said, adding, “Our goal is to operate the hospital in a more effective way in the coming days.”
On the occasion, Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa pledged to provide additional equipment and human resources to the hospital in the upcoming budget. “Providing equipment and infrastructure is not enough. I also promise to provide additional human resources to the hospitals,” Thapa said, adding, “Our ministry aims to make the hospitals operated by the local levels capable in the coming fiscal year.” ”
In the program, Dr. Dr. Bhagawan Koirala said that if the hospitals run by the local level were capable, the number of patients in the big hospitals would be reduced. “If all the local hospitals like this are competent, the pressure of patients will decrease in the big hospitals that provide critical treatment,” said Koirala. This requires strong teamwork and quality treatment. ”
Administrative Officer of the hospital, Gopal Pokharel, said that the hospital is planning to add a dozen treatment facilities with modern equipment and specialized services. “The municipality has made the hospital autonomous. “We have set a target to make the hospital financially self-reliant,” Pokharel said, adding, “Around 62,000 patients have been treated in the last two years.” ”
Budhanilkantha Municipality has brought the municipal hospital into operation since April 15, 2081.
