Kavrepalanchowk. The security agencies have closed the vehicular movement in view of the risk of BP Highway due to the afternoon rain.

The District Police Office, Dhulikhel, has closed the Katunje of Namobuddha to Mangaltar of Roshi along the highway from 3:30 pm.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista said that the traffic has been closed to avoid possible risk as there has been a big flood in the Roshi River due to the rains. According to him, the general public has been requested to travel only after understanding the condition of the highway and have also appealed not to travel on this section until another notice is issued.

The temporary diversion constructed earlier on the highway was washed away due to the rise in the water level in the Roshi river due to the rains. Last year, the floods and landslides swept away 18 km of road in Roshi of Ragmarg and Nepalthok area of Sindhuli. Similarly, in the third week of March, temporary diversions were constructed again after 4 km of road was washed away in different places of the same area.

Meanwhile, the vehicles have been put on hold at Kavrebhanjyang of Dhulikhel and Nepalthok of Sindhuli due to the obstruction of the highway.

After the floods and landslides of September last year completely damaged the Chaukidanda-Nepalthok road section, temporary roads and diversions were constructed from the river. According to the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, a permanent road is currently being constructed in the area.
