Import of electric vehicles worth Rs 3 billion increases by 102 per cent

Veerganj. Electric vehicles worth Rs 2.98 billion were imported through Birgunj border point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

Compared to the same period of the last fiscal year, the import of electric vehicles increased by 102 percent i.e. Rs 1.50 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_19

Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at Birgunj Customs Office, said that import of electric vehicles has increased by 100 percent in the nine months of the current fiscal year.TAG_OPEN_div_17 In the first nine months of the last fiscal year, electric vehicles worth Rs 1.48 billion were imported.

In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, 493 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 1.46 billion were imported.TAG_OPEN_div_15 In the same period last year, 172 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 480 million were imported.

In the current fiscal year, 7,3 TAG_OPEN_div_13 98 electric motorcycles worth Rs 960 million have been imported. In the same period of the last fiscal year, Nepal imported 4,227 electric motorcycles worth Rs 550 million.

Similarly, 4,6 TAG_OPEN_div_11 06 electric three-wheelers worth Rs 530 million were imported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the last fiscal year, Nepal imported 3,613 electric three-wheelers worth Rs 450 million.
