Passport to be issued at home through post office in Kathmandu

. The District Administration Office (DAO) has said that passport service will now be started in Kathmandu as well.

Kathmandu administration and Goshwara Postal Office, Kathmandu today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide passport distribution service to the doorsteps of the citizens through postal service, implementing the decision of the Cabinet meeting of the Government of Nepal on March 27, 2082.TAG_OPEN_div_14

Spokesperson of Kathmandu Administration, Assistant Chief District Officer, Mukti Ram Rijal, said that the service has now been started with the agreement.TAG_OPEN_div_12 He said that the service recipients have the option to choose for this.

The Kathmandu Administration has issued a notice today, “The service seekers applying for passport from this office have been given the option of choosing whether they want to get their passport from the postal service or take it from this office.TAG_OPEN_div_10 । ”

In point number 27 of the 100 Agenda for Governance Reforms, the government had decided to modernize the postal service and implement the provision of delivering government documents and materials including passport, citizenship, copy, license and other government documents and materials at home within 100 days.TAG_OPEN_div_8
