Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The credit disbursement of commercial banks has increased marginally till mid-April of the current fiscal year.
As of mid-April of the last fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have issued loans amounting to Rs 4.807 trillion. This loan has increased by 6.12 percent to Rs 5.101 trillion compared to the same period of the last FY.
Out of 20 banks in operation, the loan flow of five banks has decreased while the loan of the remaining 15 banks has increased. They are Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Himalayan Bank, Prabhu Bank, NIC Asia Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
Similarly, the loan of Nepal Investment Mega Bank decreased by 0.17 percent to sit at Rs 341.50 billion and that of Himalayan Bank by 0.10 percent to sit at Rs 2.43 billion, Prabhu Bank by 1.09 percent to sit at Rs 228.68 billion, NIC Asia Bank by 1.09 percent and Standard Chartered Bank by 14 percent to Rs 77.27 billion. 4 lakh 96 thousand. Standard Chartered is the lowest lender till mid-April.
Nabil Bank is the largest lender in the world. The bank has extended loans of Rs 464.10 billion to the country. Global IME Bank is in the second position. The bank has a capital of Rs 456.08 billion.
