Examination of genuine squatters begins through Land Records Information Management System

. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has started testing the genuine landless squatters through the Land Records Information Management System.

Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry, Ganesh Prasad Bhatta, said that the test has been started to find out if the landless squatters have land in any part of the country in the government records.TAG_OPEN_div_19 According to him, the test has been carried out in a transparent, effective and economical manner through electronic medium along with various policies and procedures.

“At present, as sent by the Ministry of Urban Development, the list of landless squatters in the Kathmandu Valley is being examined. After this, the squatters across the country will be identified gradually,” Bhatta said. ”

The Ministry has written to all 75 TAG_OPEN_div_13 3 local levels to inform them about the staff, technical human resources, vocational skills, technology and other resources required to provide land-related services from the local level. It is stated that the bodies under the Ministry would conduct training, training and skill development programmes to these local levels on the basis of priority and hand over responsibility to them.
