Officials appointed in public bodies before March 12 automatically relieved of their posts

. The officials appointed before March 26, 2082 BS were automatically relieved of their posts.

This provision has been made in Clause 2 (1) of the ‘Special Provision Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officials Ordinance, 2083’ issued by President Ram Chandra Poudel on Saturday on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.TAG_OPEN_div_18

Notwithstanding the conditions, facilities and tenure of office of public officials specified in the said section, such officials shall be automatically relieved from their posts after the commencement of this ordinance.TAG_OPEN_div_16 The ordinance was released by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs today.

According to Sub-section (2) of Section 2 of the Ordinance, the Secretary of the concerned Ministry or the official authorized by him shall give a notice of the removal of his or her office.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The Ordinance has come into force as per Section 1(2).

} It is desirable to make immediate legal provisions regarding the removal of public officials appointed and nominated or appointed in accordance with the prevailing law and this ordinance has been issued as the Federal Parliament is not in session at present.

The government led by Prime TAG_OPEN_div_10 Minister Balendra Shah has taken this step with the objective of strengthening the administration and giving a new impetus to the state bodies. With the promulgation of the ordinance, a total of 1,594 office-bearers who were appointed to the political post under various acts and structures have been relieved of their posts outright.
