Kathmandu. The government has started an online service to facilitate Indian tourists and tourists from other countries coming to Nepal via India.

The Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance has developed a system that allows foreign vehicles entering Nepal via land route to fill in details and pay revenue online.

During a program of this system, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle inaugurated. With the new system, Indian tourists entering Nepal with vehicle can pay their details and revenue online.

Earlier, such vehicles had to obtain a temporary permit at the customs checkpoint. Also, during the trip to Nepal, if the travel period was over, they had to go to the customs point for renewal or pay a fine.

However, with the introduction of the new online system, tourists coming to Nepal can now fill up their vehicle license online from home and pay online to visit Nepal without any hassle.

“This has been initiated in line with the government’s vision of good governance and providing quality public services,” he said. Wagle said, “Tourists should not face any difficulty. We want government services to be quick and efficient. ”

Initiating the new system, Director General of the Department of Customs, Shyam Prasad Mainali, said that the license of foreign vehicles entering Nepal has now become digital.

According to him, passengers entering Nepal and tourists will now be able to self-declare the details of foreign vehicles to be used online. This will make the process more transparent and effective.

Such tourist vehicles can also pay the revenue to the Government of Nepal online or through bank counters. He said that the vehicles that have paid online can enter Nepal by showing the QR code received in the customs email. According to the Department, tourist vehicles can reach their destination by carrying the QR code received in this way.

To avail all these services, one has to go to the customs department’s website and click on the TIV title under our services title and from there the details can be filled online.

After updating all the details, the customer finally gets a QR code that opens all the details. On the basis of this, vehicles can enter Nepal by paying the fees they have to pay. Such vehicles can travel on the roads of Nepal if they show the same QR code.

According to the Department, the Temporary Vehicle Import (TIV) module has been developed to facilitate the foreign nationals entering Nepal through the Nepal National One-Door System.

According to the Department of Customs, this service has been implemented for vehicles used by Indian and third country tourists entering Nepal. According to the Department, tourists with Chinese vehicles are not allowed to enter the country via the Chinese border point and this service is available for them if they come here. The Department believes that tourists from India and Bangladesh will be benefited from this service for the time being.
