EU interested in supporting Nepal’s priority areas

Kathmandu. The European Union (EU) has shown interest in cooperating and collaborating in the priority areas of the current government.

EU Ambassador Veronicke Lorenzo said that the EU was willing to support the new government in the priority areas of Nepal’s government, during a meeting with Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel today.

Matters of bilateral relations and collaboration in education sector were discussed during the meeting held at the Singha Durbar-based Ministry.

Education Minister Pokharel appreciated EU support in Nepal’s school education sector, especially in improving equitable access, quality and teacher professional development system.

He was of the view that further collaboration could be done in the future in the areas of inclusion in existing education, infrastructure development, teachers’ professional development, among others.

The Ambassador said that the EU was willing to support the new government in priority areas.

Ambassador Rorenzo pledged continuous support to further strengthen Nepal-EU relations.
