Kathmandu. IGI Prudential Insurance Company has published its unaudited financial statements for the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/083. According to the details made public by the company, the insurance fund, net insurance premium income and total income of the company have improved while the profit of the company has decreased. According to the company, the company’s profit has been declining due to various problems seen in the global economy and Nepal’s economy in recent times.
The company earned a net profit of Rs 4,38,000 till mid-April of the current FY, down 99.83 percent from the previous year. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 26.51 crore a year ago.
The company’s insurance fund increased by 75.70 percent to Rs 7.48 billion compared to the corresponding period of the last FY. As of mid-April of the previous year, the company’s insurance fund stood at Rs 4.25 billion.
Similarly, the company has earned Rs 1.04 billion in net insurance premiums during the period. The company had earned Rs 92.91 crore in the same period last year. This is 12.14 percent more than the same period last year.
The company’s total income stood at Rs 1.57 billion by mid-April. It was 2.98 percent higher than the same period last year. The company’s income from investment and loan declined to Rs 14.79 crore.
Similarly, the commission expense paid to the company’s agents increased by 82.07 percent to Rs 7.71 crore. The total expenditure has also increased to Rs 1.57 billion, according to the financial statement.
The company has paid-up capital of Rs 3.02 billion and Rs 9.61 crore in the disaster fund. The company’s earnings per share declined to Rs 0.02 from Rs 11.67 and net worth per share stood at Rs 182.72.
