Man arrested for leaking question papers before exam on social media

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police’s ‘Cyber Bureau’ team has arrested two persons on the charge of making public the question paper and answer sheets before the exam through social media.

The arrestees have been identified as 37-year-old Nirajan Shahi of Birendranagar municipality-8 in Surkhet and currently residing in Subhanagar of Kathmandu metropolis-32 and Prem Kumar Shrestha, 30, of Nilkantha municipality-3 in Dhading district, currently residing in Budhanilkantha municipality-10, Kapan of Kathmandu, according to Cyber Bureau spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri.TAG_OPEN_div_12

He said, “A letter from the National Examination Board for necessary investigation into the leak of the Class 12 question paper conducted by the National Examination Board (NEB) was received at this bureau for necessary investigation and from the technical analysis and investigation, they were arrested on the charge of violating the confidentiality of the question paper by creating various groups including ‘WhatsApp Group’ and ‘Facebook Messenger’ which also revealed the question paper along with the answer TAG_OPEN_div_10 । ”

They were arrested from Chabahil of Kathmandu and remanded in custody for four days under the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063, said Spokesperson Giri.TAG_OPEN_div_8
