Kathmandu. The stakeholders have stressed on the need of trilateral cooperation for dignified work and inclusive development.

The stakeholders expressed their views at a tripartite meeting jointly organized by the government, employers, JTUCC and ILO in Lalitpur.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the ‘National Programme on Decent Work for 2023-2027’ and also discussed the future strategy

On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Dr Deepak Kafle, underscored the need of consolidating tripartite collaboration for dignified work, social justice and inclusive economic development.

ILO Country Director for Nepal, Numan Ozkan, said that the focus should be on accurate statistics while working in this area, believing that labour issues can be addressed through collaboration.

On the occasion, Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Employers Council President Prabal Jung Pandey said cordial relations between the government, employers and workers were essential for economic development and productivity of the country.

Highlighting the activities being carried out by the Federation in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), Pandey informed that the Occupational Safety and Health Directive has been implemented in the tea and cardamom sector, the ‘Women Entrepreneurship Help Desk’ has been established to support women entrepreneurs and the pilot of multi-purpose care centers in different places of Karnali and Far-West.

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has been working in collaboration with the government and IALO in the field of dignified work and inclusive development. It aims to bring targeted groups such as women and youth into the mainstream of the economy.
