Kathmandu. The Office of the Auditor General has shown that the highest arrears are in the federal ministry.
According to the 63rd annual report of the Auditor General, the total arrears of the federal government stood at Rs 53.48 billion. In the fiscal year 2081/82, the Ministry of Finance has the highest arrears towards the federal ministry.
The arrears of the Ministry of Finance and its subordinate bodies stand at 70 per cent i.e. Rs 37.63 billion.
Similarly, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has arrears of Rs 7.10 billion or 13.28 percent.
The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has arrears of Rs 1.53 billion, the Ministry of Forest and Environment Rs 1.34 billion, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Rs 1.16 billion, the Ministry of Urban Development Rs 805.1 million and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rs 743.4 million.
Similarly, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has Rs 652.26 million, the Ministry of Home Affairs Rs 577.2 million, the Ministry of Health and Population Rs 524.3 million and other ministries Rs 1.35 billion.
