Profit of microfinance companies increased by an average of 43.16 percent.

Kathmandu. The profit of microfinance institutions has increased till mid-April of the current fiscal year. As of mid-April of the current fiscal year, 51 microfinance institutions have earned a net profit of Rs 7.24 billion.

The profit of such companies increased by 43.16 percent compared to the corresponding period of the last FY. As of mid-April of the last fiscal year, 51 microfinance companies had earned a net profit of Rs 5.06 billion.

During this period, the profit of 9 microfinance institutions has decreased. Unique Laghubitta, Kalika Laghubitta, Srijanshi {{{TAG_CLOSE_u_14 TAG_OPEN_u_14}, Nerude Mirmire, CYC Nepal, Mahila Laghubitta, RSDC, Nirdhan Utthan and Sanatan Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha posted a decline in profit during the review period.

Similarly, Bijaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has been incurring losses till mid-April of the current fiscal year. The company posted a net profit of Rs 7,80,68,000 as of mid-April last year, which reported a loss of Rs 2,67,96,000 in the third quarter of the current FY.

Three microfinance financial institutions, which were in losses till mid-April of the last fiscal year, have been successful in making profit till mid-April of this year. Collective Microfinance, Mathrubhumi and Mero Microfinance Company were in losses in the last fiscal year.

The most profitable microfinance company during this period is Neighborhood Microfinance Financial Institution Company. Similarly, Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Company is the company with the highest profit.
