Nepal Sanskrit University begins process to appoint office-bearers

. The government has started the process to fill vacant posts in the Nepal Sanskrit University. The selection committee formed to recommend the names for the post of vice-chancellor, rector and registrar of the Nepal Sanskrit University published a notice today and invited applications for the posts.
The committee has invited applications as per the “Procedure for Selection and Recommendation of Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University, 2083” approved on May 2 TAG_OPEN_div_28 4. The eligible candidates can apply to the post through the link provided by visiting the website of the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology within 10 days from the date of publication of this notice. The procedure has been posted on the ministry’s website.
The appointment process is being made to strengthen transparency, merit system and procedural fairness in the appointment process. The committee has formed the recommendation committee as per the Clause 16 A of the Nepal Sanskrit University Act, 2043 BS and the recommendation committee has been made by the chancellor of the university and the provision of recommending qualified persons having experience in the field of higher education through open competition ।
According to the procedure, the committee will select three candidates respectively on the basis of qualifications, research articles, research papers related to the university and evaluation of the university’s four-year strategic action plan, presentation made by the candidates and interviews held as per the order of merit and recommend for appointment as per Section 16 (30) of the Act, in the case of Rector (17) (17) of the Act and in the case of Registrar (18) (18) of the Act TAG_OPEN_div_24 ।
According to the procedure, the evaluation process for the selection of vice-chancellor and rector will be based on 100 integers.TAG_OPEN_div_22 Published research, books, administrative experience, presentations and interviews will be awarded marks.
According to the new procedure, it is mandatory to have at least TAG_OPEN_div_20 a doctorate degree for the post of vice-chancellor, at least 10 years of research and academic experience, high moral character and not being a member of a political party and if the article has been published, then a copy of the article should be submitted.
Similarly, a research paper on Nepal Culture University of up to a maximum of five thousand words and a four-year strategy and action plan for Nepal Culture University should be submitted.TAG_OPEN_div_18 For the post of Registrar, one should have at least a Master’s degree in Sanskrit language or literature from a recognized university and 10 years of experience in technical or educational administration or research in higher education.
Research papers on Nepal Culture University with a maximum of TAG_OPEN_div_16 five thousand words and a four-year strategy and action plan for Nepal Culture University should be submitted.
