Kathmandu. Rain, thunder, lightning and gusty winds are likely to occur at various places of the country at present due to the influence of the low pressure area near the eastern part of the country.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous region while it is partly cloudy in the Tarai region at present. Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is taking place at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country towards the afternoon today. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at one or two places of the Tarai region including Madhes Province, Koshi Province and Bagmati Province. Light snowfall is predicted in high mountainous area.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of gusty winds in the Tarai and hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces.

Similarly, tonight, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions including Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces while it will be partially cloudy in the rest of the country. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Lumbini, Karnali, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted the possibility of gusty winds in some places of the Tarai and hilly areas of the country, urging the general public to take precaution.
