Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has formed a committee to investigate into the case of 779 electric vehicles seized by the Armed Police Force (APF) from several places on the suspicion of tax evasion.

A joint probe committee was formed under the special direction of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday with representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Customs, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s press and research expert Deepa Dahal said that the government was aware of good governance and revenue protection and immediately formed a committee to initiate the legal process. According to her, the committee has reached the spot where the vehicles have been impounded and started investigation at a fast pace.

“Due to the large number of vehicles, it may take some time to carry out a thorough study and verification of all the legal documents related to revenue and customs,” Dahal said. We ask you to be patient and reassured until the investigation is over. “The government is committed to strengthening state’s economy and law enforcement,” she said.
