House of Representatives meeting adjourned without entering regular agenda, Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada Wagle could not answer

Kathmandu. Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned without entering the regular agenda due to protest by the main opposition parties.

The opposition parties had obstructed the meeting demanding a response from the Prime Minister regarding the Nepal-India border statement. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal urged the opposition parties to facilitate the operation of the meeting by taking seat from time to time. The opposition parties rejected the Speaker’s request and continued to protest.

Speaker Aryal informed that the meeting has been adjourned till 11:00 am on Wednesday. Speaker Aryal was scheduled to read out a letter related to the addition of work received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Likewise, Speaker Aryal informed about the nomination of members in the Business Advisory Committee and informed that the Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill, 2082 has not been withdrawn from the National Assembly within the stipulated time.

Likewise, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle was scheduled to present a proposal seeking general discussion on annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84 BS. General discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84 would begin and Finance Minister Dr Wagle would respond to the questions raised during the discussions.

Likewise, ‘Bill to Raise National Loan, 2083’ and ‘Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083’ were also presented in the programme.

In the meeting, Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina presented a proposal seeking to send the ‘Film Bill-2082 that originated in the National Assembly’ to the respective committees for clause-wise deliberations.
