Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has taken special initiation to promote domestic production as the national pride.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers today held discussions on the country-wide promotion and market expansion of the products of the government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC).
Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary raised the agenda of DDC’s production promotion in the cabinet meeting. In the meeting, Minister Chaudhary stressed on the need to give priority to the use and promotion of DDC products for the protection of domestic dairy products, promotion of farmers’ interests and business strengthening of the corporation.
She stressed the need of coordination among various government agencies to develop DDC as a competitive, quality and self-reliant organization. He also stressed the need for necessary support from the government to ensure the proper management of milk collected from Nepali dairy farmers and to ensure market for the production.
On the occasion, she distributed a package of DDC products to the members of the Council of Ministers, including Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah has been providing pure and quality milk, ghee, curd, paneer, cheese and other dairy products to Nepali consumers for a long time. Prime Minister Shah himself gave a strong message to increase the consumption of indigenous goods by promoting and promoting DDC products.
