Kathmandu. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has come out strongly against the political setting and irregularities that have taken root in the industrial sector for years.

The minister’s warning to take action against more than 300 industries for grabbing government property without paying rent to the government has had a big impact.

Within 24 hours of Minister Yadav’s stern warning, more than 12 big industries have paid the rent they had owed for years.

Many other industries and their operators have also come in contact with the ministry and the concerned authorities to avoid fines and action.

Under the guise of previous governments and political leadership, it has been seen that the industrialists have been suppressing the rent of billions of rupees that they have to pay to the government for years.

The use of government land and physical infrastructure in the industrial area, but without paying even the minimum rent for it, was causing a loss of billions of rupees to the state exchequer.

In addition to this, it has been revealed that there is a huge number of ‘mafia’ in the industrial area who do not pay the rent themselves and do not allow the opening of other new factories. The ministry is now preparing to take legal action to crack down on such elements who are running syndicates by grabbing government property.

The ministry is very optimistic that the rent of billions of rupees that has not been collected for a long time will be raised within a week. The ministry is preparing to ignore the warning and revoke the license of the industries that do not come into contact within the stipulated time, padlock the industries and recover the government dues as per the law.

It is believed that this action of Minister Yadav will improve the industrial sector that has been dormant for years and deposit a huge amount of money in the state exchequer. The real industrialists have welcomed the minister’s move.
