. Police have arrested a fugitive who was sentenced to two years in jail on a cheque dishonour case from Budhanilkantha.
The arrested is 67-year-old Phanindra Nepal of Budhanilkantha municipality-10, according to spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki.
He was arrested from Katari Basti of Budhanilkantha-10 after being sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Kathmandu District Court in the cheque dishonour case 9077-C4-16150 against plaintiff Yubaraj Khatri and defendant Phanindra Nepal.
The arrestee has been sent to Kathmandu District Court, Babarmahal today for the execution of verdict, said spokesperson Karki.
In the last 24 hours, the Traffic Police have taken action against 2,337 drivers for traffic rule violations. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Rs 2.118 million revenue has been deposited in the state coffers through this amount.
Spokesperson of Traffic Police Naresh Raj Subedi shared that 75 people were taken for drinking, 127 for ride-sharing, 138 for breaching sign lights and 148 for speeding.
According to him, action was taken against 70 for flouting lane discipline, 250 for blowing horn in prohibited areas, 138 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 140 for one-way driving and 1,251 for not following other traffic rules.
