Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (third amendment) Bill, 2083 BS has been tabled in the House of Representatives today. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle presented the bill in the meeting today.
In the meeting, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal said that no protest has been reported on the proposal seeking permission to present the bill. The meeting unanimously endorsed the proposal seeking permission to present the bill tabled by the Finance Minister.
Presenting the bill, Finance Minister Wagle said that the bill has been brought as it is necessary to strengthen the stability of the overall financial sector by maintaining price and payment stability with the objective of supporting sustainable development of the country’s economy.
“Some provisions of the existing Acts should be made more clear, systematic and timely in view of the changes in national and international financial sector, expansion of financial system, use of digital system and the role of the central bank,” he said.
