Foreign Minister Khanal to visit China

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal has visited China.

The Ministry said that internal preparations for the visit were underway and the itinerary would be shared soon. Minister Khanal recently paid a three-day official visit to India after the formation of the incumbent government.

Likewise, in an interaction with media persons organized at the Ministry, Minister Khanal said that all the state bodies including the government, political parties and media sector should also be united on matters of national interest. He also urged the government to be sensitive in disseminating information related to foreign affairs. Informing about the new works to be carried out at the Ministry and the plans for reforms, Minister Bhattarai said that additional human resources and physical infrastructures would be upgraded in the Nepali missions abroad as per the need.

Minister Khanal also apprised the minister about the plans to strengthen the Institute of Foreign Affairs, initiate Lumbini Fellowship programme, organize geo-strategic conference and resolve the challenges seen in passport biometrics. On the occasion, he said his recent visit to India was effective and result-oriented and that he held bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart in a cordial manner by openly discussing various issues of bilateral interest.

On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry Amrit Bahadur Rai said the Ministry was effortful towards achieving economic prosperity and good governance as committed by the incumbent government. Ministry’s spokesperson and joint secretary Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri briefed about the works carried out by the Ministry.
