Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rainfall has been forecast in many parts of the country due to the influence of the westerly trough and local winds in the upper atmosphere.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather is generally cloudy in most of the mountainous and hilly areas of the country including in Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces while it is partly cloudy in the Tarai region. Light rain is taking place at some places of Lumbini Province and at one or two places of Koshi, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Karnali Province.

The weather will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country including Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the Tarai region towards the afternoon. Likewise, moderate rain along with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of Koshi and Madhes provinces and at a few places of the mountainous and hilly regions of the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light rain will occur at one or two places of the Tarai region of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

The weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly region including Koshi Province and partly cloudy in the Tarai region including Madhes Province tonight. Possibility remains for brief rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Likewise, there is the possibility of rain and snowfall at one or two places of the Tarai region of Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the mountainous region of the country.

The Division has urged one and all to adopt precaution as rainfall, lightning and snowfall would partially impact daily life, agriculture, road and air transport.
