Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled its policy and programme for the fiscal year 2083/084.
Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol unveiled the policies and programmes in the first meeting of the 19th session of the municipal assembly. As in the past years, Kathmandu’s historical, cultural heritage, physical and modern urban civilization have been taken as the main basis for the formulation of policies and programmes for the coming fiscal year, Dangol said.

Likewise, the government’s policy and programme is expected to help build a metropolis with original, historical, cultural, touristic and good governance.
“The implementation of the policies and programmes of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City presented in this meeting of the Municipal Assembly for the coming fiscal year 2083/84 BS will meet the expected goals of the federal capital Kathmandu,” she said, adding that the KMC would be transformed into an inclusive, well-governed, technology-friendly, safe, clean, healthy, green and innovation-oriented smart city with the goal of economic prosperity, social justice, quality enhancement of service delivery, preservation of culture and heritage, and sustainable urban development.
