“Information and details related to disaster management will be integrated into the Geographical Information System. Monsoon preparedness and response plan will be approved and implemented for the reduction of monsoon-induced disaster risk. Priority will be given to preparedness and response required for the management of weather-induced disasters. ’

KMC has also stated that schools, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, public buildings and multipurpose structures would formulate disaster safety standards and their effective implementation, their supervision and regular safety audit would be conducted.

“The agreement reached with the concerned parties for necessary improvement would be reviewed after carrying out a detailed study of the projects run under public-private partnership,” the Policies and Programmes reads, adding that coordination and collaboration would be made with the bodies concerned for the distribution of easy, accessible and quality water by prioritizing the right of the KMC residents to clean drinking water. Drinking water booths and public toilets will be constructed in more places to continue the concept of free drinking water and public toilets. ’
