‘Budget aims to digitalise traditional home administration’

Kathmandu. Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year has set a target on transforming the traditional home administration into a digital state. Responding to the queries raised during the discussion on the topic of appropriation of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Appropriation Bill-2083 BS in the meeting of the House of Representatives today, he said the budget was not only a list of figures but a national resolution for good governance, national security and prosperity.

“I express my commitment to invest every penny ÷collected from the sweat and sweat of Nepali people in the service of the citizens and strengthen national security,” he said. He said additional programmes and budget have been allocated to boost the morale of the security personnel.

He said the Ministry was effortful to stop the exploitation of the river-based resources and was coordinating with various ministries. On the occasion, Home Minister Gurung said that budget has been allocated to resolve problems of earthquake survivors in Jajarkot.

Saying the Ministry was working to address complaints surfaced over the procurement of police uniforms, Home Minister Gurung said, “The Ministry has a plan that the police personnel themselves will purchase the uniforms by handing over the amount being spent on them to the police so that no middlemen can manipulate them.” ”

Home Minister Gurung said the Ministry was sensitive to investigate into the incident of rape and murder of Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur. The government was committed to controlling drug trafficking and consumption, cybercrime and misuse of social media.
