Kathmandu. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, has said that the ordinance related to Public Procurement Act should be brought to remove the complexities seen in the Public Procurement Act.
She said this while responding to the queries raised in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday in response to a proposal presented by main opposition Nepali Congress lawmaker Khadak Bahadur Bishwakarma seeking to reject the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance-2083.
“The parliament session has been closed. It has been raised many times in this parliament that the Public Procurement Act has always been a problem. And the speed at which the government is moving rather than how to address it. How to address it? The ordinance has been brought to amend the provisions related to public procurement and expedite it. Now there are places to adjust when the replacement bill is brought,” she said.
He claimed that the government has eased the task of resolving the burning problems of the people by amending the bill which even the lawmakers had raised questions for long.
Minister Gautam also said that the government was moving ahead at a speedy pace to resolve the problems of the people.
