Chitwan. The closed session of the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am today. The closed session will be held at the Exhibition Centre of the Association.
Out of the three big halls in the exhibition center, two are preparing for closed session while another is providing lunch and food. According to RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Ramakanta Rimal will present the report of the Discipline Commission at the beginning of the closed session. After this, the report will be discussed, while the financial report of Treasurer Lima Adhikari will be presented at 9 am.
General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti will present the organizational report at 10:00 am and discuss it while the joint general secretary of the party will discuss and endorse the statute at 10:45 am. Similarly, party President Rabi Lamichhane will present the political report in the closed session while party President Lamichhane will announce the formation of interim management committee while the organizing committee will hand over all responsibilities to the Election Commission.
After lunch, the Election Commission will publish information and schedule related to the election process. According to RSP central member Rajan Gautam, the day’s food has been managed at the same place for today and tomorrow. There will be 4,211 representatives, observers and volunteers of the RSP in the closed session.
Chief of the Central Election Commission, Bhuwan KC, said that the nomination forms will be distributed after 1:00 pm today. The filing of candidacy will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and the list of candidates will be published at 6:00 pm, he said.
Similarly, the scrutiny will be conducted from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and against the candidates from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. According to him, the last date for withdrawal of candidacy is 9:15 pm. The final list of candidates will be published at 11:00 pm.
The first phase of voting will begin from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on June 22. He said that voting will be held for one president and 99 central members. The counting of votes for the first phase and declaration of results will take place two hours later. After this, the process of the second phase of voting will be initiated. The inaugural session of the first general convention was held in a grand manner at the Guest House ground on Sunday.
