Kathmandu. Farmers in the mountainous district of Humla district are worried as the crops are drying up due to lack of rain. Farmers here have been worried as vegetables like millet, chino, kaguno, bhatta and cauliflower have started drying up due to lack of rain for a long time.
Janaki Bhandari, a farmer of Simkot Rural Municipality-1 in the district, said the crops are drying up due to lack of rainfall in June. Rupsi Bohara, a farmer of Simkot Rural Municipality-2, said that the production will decrease due to lack of rainfall till the third week of June and there could be a food crisis in the district.
Farmers of Ripgaun of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-2, the largest producer of crops in the district, are worried as their crops are drying up due to lack of rain for a long time.
