German Embassy in Germany clarifies on passport purchase

. KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Germany in Nepal has clarified its position regarding the news disseminated on passport purchase.
The embassy clarified through its social media Facebook that Nepal’s Charge d’ Affaires to Germany has been invited to attend the meeting held at the German Federal Foreign Ministry but was not invited.TAG_OPEN_div_10
The Embassy has clarified that no letter of protest or any other document has been handed over. The embassy said it had not given any warning about the possible consequences based on the outcome of the case’s proceedings.
“Germany fully respects the independence of the judiciary. In fact, this principle is enshrined in our Constitution. “In principle, the embassy does not comment on sub judice cases and has not commented on this case at any stage,” the embassy said.
