. KATHMANDU: The elected office-bearers and central committee members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RJP) have taken oath of office and secrecy from the party’s first national general convention. President Rabi Lamichhane administered the oath of office and secrecy to the office-bearers and central members amidst a programme held at the central office in Chamati today.

The first general convention of the RSP was held in Bharatpur of Chitwan from June 2 TAG_OPEN_div_51 3 to 26. The general convention elected a 99-member central committee comprising president, two vice-presidents, one general secretary and three joint general secretaries. Rabi Lamichhane has already taken oath as the party president.

A total of 33 members were elected from the open and inclusive category, 10 from Khas-Arya, nine from indigenous nationalities, two from Tharus, five from Madhesi, three from Dalit and two from Muslims.TAG_OPEN_div_47 Similarly, 55 members were elected from Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim districts.
