Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of moderate risk of flash flood in some districts today.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly and terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at one or two places of Madhes provinces.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the monsoon low pressure trough is located in the eastern region of Nepal towards south of the normal and around the normal place towards the western part of the country.
Department’s Flood Expert Binod Parajuli said the water level in the small rivers flowing through Ilam, Jhapa, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Saptari, Sunsari, Morang, Doti, Dadeldhura and the surrounding districts is likely to rise significantly and there is a risk of flash flood.
In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places of the country. The highest rainfall of 98.6 mm was recorded at Yangjakot of Kaski.
