Pokhara Metropolitan City active in conservation of public land

Gandaki. The role played by the metropolis in making the public land in Pokhara Bus Park and Firke Khola free of encroachment was discussed at a public hearing organized by Pokhara Metropolitan City at Pokhara City Hall on Monday.

“The metropolis will make public the details of the public land in Pokhara within some time, and it is estimated that there are around 81,TAG_OPEN_div_44 000 ropanis of public land, including forest area,” he said, adding, “We inform the public landowners to vacate the land if anyone is found encroaching on the public land. According to him, it has become difficult to see open spaces in Pokhara which was once known as Patan and Chaur.

Mayor TAG_OPEN_div_42 Acharya said that the metropolis has put forward plans to construct playgrounds and parks in all the 33 wards of the metropolis. According to him, 160 structures built inside the rivulet of Firke River have been removed and some more are yet to be removed.

He suggested the metropolis to construct parks in public places.
