Kathmandu. The agitating Meter Interest victim side and the government negotiation team are preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today itself.
Preparations are underway to formalize the verbal agreement reached between the government team and the victim’s representatives in Simara in the form of a written agreement.
For this, the final phase of decisive talks between the government talks team and the representatives of the Meter Baazi victims have begun at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (Singha Durbar).
Prior to this, the government talks team and the victims’ sides held intensive discussions at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers yesterday. The final agreement has been prepared today taking the same discussion and agreement as the foundation of yesterday’s discussion.
Who is on the negotiating team?
Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Pushkar Sapkota, is leading the talk team.
The team comprises Kali Prasad Parajuli, joint secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Yogendra Prasad Dulal, director general of the Department of Land Management.
Awadhesh Kushwaha of Nawalparasi (Susta East) is coordinating the talks team on behalf of the victims. Manoj Paswan from Siraha, Rijan Rana Magar from Gorkha, Laxmi Ghimire from Bhojpur, Kiran Pariyar from Bardaghat West and Nirgaraj Jaishi from Kailali are the members of the team.
