Thousands of devotees throng Pashupatinath temple on first Monday of July

Kathmandu. The temples and shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva across the country including Pashupatinath are crowded with devotees since early morning today.

All the four gates of the temple were opened since 3:00 am today, said Tirtha Shrestha, member-secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).TAG_OPEN_div_22 He said that the devotees have come to the temple since early morning to pay obeisance without even caring about the rain.

Arrangements have been made for easy, safe and systematic darshan and special worship arrangements for the devotees visiting Pashupatinath. He also admitted that the appointment of office-bearers was delayed and the fund could not work as per the requirement due to lack of human resources.

Temple guard battalion, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, Traffic Police, Kathmandu Metropolitan Police and various religious and social organizations will also be involved in making the temple management more effective, safe and systematic.TAG_OPEN_div_18

Arrangements have been made to facilitate hundreds of thousands of devotees visiting the Pashupatinath temple for worship in an easy, safe, dignified and well-managed environment, said PADT member-secretary Shrestha.TAG_OPEN_div_16 The four gates of the temple which opened from 3 am will be opened for the devotees till 8 pm after the evening aarti. The special puja will be held from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.
