Kathmandu. The District Land Problems Resolution Committee, Jhapa, has distributed land ownership certificates to 18 families who have settled unsystematically in the municipality in Arjundhara.

Locals who have not been able to own land in their name for a long time have become legal landowners after getting land ownership certificates.

The government has given high priority to addressing the problems of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unsystematic settlers. Earlier, the government had distributed land ownership certificates to the landless people of Badhaiyatal of Bardiya and Buddhashanti of Jhapa.

The distribution of land ownership certificates has been taken forward more effectively as per the government’s goal of making landless Dalits, landless squatters and unsystematic settlers legal landowners by addressing the problems of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unsystematic settlers in a long-term manner.
