Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: There is possibility of rain in several parts of the country today as the influence of the monsoon wind remains throughout the country and the monsoon trough is south of the normal place in the western part and around the average place in the eastern Nepal.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather is partly cloudy in the Tarai region of Lumbini Province at present while it is generally cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of Bagmati province and at one or two places of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country today. Light rain will occur in some places while light snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of the Tarai region. Heavy rain is predicted at one or two places of the hilly region of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the hilly and mountainous regions and at a few places of the Tarai region. Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has urged the bodies concerned and the general public to adopt the necessary precaution as the risk of mudslide and mudslide will increase in areas with the possibility of heavy rainfall, as well as to the daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport.
