Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Three more thematic committees under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) have got full shape.

According to the FNCCI, 8 committees have been completed before this while Bank, Finance and Insurance Committee, Fair Committee and Tourism and Air Transport Committee have been expanded.

Acting President of FNCCI Sur Krishna Baidya handed over the nomination papers to the newly-appointed vice president, members and advisors. The thematic committees are an important mechanism to identify the problems, possibilities and needs of the private sector, he said.

Acting President Baidya urged the committee to study the problems related to their area and present it to the government effectively through the FNCCI. He expressed the belief that the committee’s role would be significant in empowering the private sector, economic prosperity, facilitating policy making and creating investment-friendly environment.

Objective vice-president of FNCCI, Naresh Lal Shrestha, said the committees were the basis for the implementation of the FNJ’s policies and programmes, urging them to take effective initiatives to resolve the problems of the entrepreneurs related sector.

Treasurer of the committee Manish Lal Pradhan said that the committee should play an active role to increase coordination among the private sector, government and the stakeholders.

Hemant Golchha, president of the Bank, Finance and Insurance Committee, said the committee would be active in making policies and policies friendly to the private sector.

President of the fair committee Sabin Shrestha said that the trade fair and expo would be systematic, quality and international.

President of the Tourism and Air Transport Committee, Sangharsha Bista pledged to work in coordination with the government for the revival of tourism sector, ease of air transport, development of tourism infrastructure and policy-level reforms. The Federation has 25 thematic committees.
