Kathmandu. The influence of monsoon wind is still present throughout the country. At present, the monsoon low pressure trough is a little north north of the normal location close to the Tarai region of Nepal. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said cloudy weather will prevail throughout the country due to the influence of monsoon wind.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moderate rain and snowfall is predicted in some places of the mountainous region while light to moderate rain is predicted in many places of the hilly region and at some places of the terai region. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is the possibility of moderate rain together with thunder and lightning in many ÷places of the hilly region and at a few places of the Tarai region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of moderate ÷snowfall at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds are likely to occur at many places of the hilly and terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of the hilly regions of the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of Madhes province.

The Department has urged the people to adopt precaution in view the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion in the areas prone to heavy rainfall. Daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport could be affected due to adverse weather, the Department has urged the Ministry to remain updated about the latest weather information.
